Get involved in Wales
National Personal Assistant Day on 13 November provides an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the important contribution Personal Assistants (PAs) make in supporting people across Wales to live independently and maintain choice and control over their lives.
To mark the day, Welsh Government has been working with Social Care Wales to support the launch of a new Personal Assistant webpage and online resource hub. The webpage brings together information, guidance, learning resources and practical tools to support both Personal Assistants and employers.
The webpage forms part of wider work to raise awareness of the PA role and improve access to information and resources for the workforce.
Personal Assistants provide person-centred care and support to individuals in their homes and communities, helping people maintain their independence, wellbeing and connections with the things that matter most to them.
As Delyth Jewell MS, Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women's Health, said:
"National Personal Assistant Day provides an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the important contribution Personal Assistants make across Wales. Through their dedication and support, Personal Assistants help people live independently and maintain greater choice and control over their lives. I would like to thank all Personal Assistants for the valuable role they play in supporting individuals and communities across Wales."
